I received a lovely email today from a past client. She’s selling her home and feeling really good about how well it’s being received by potential buyers. Three years after our design work sessions, she’s wanted me to see the listing and share how they’d implemented my design recommendations and how beautifully it all turned out.

As I look at the listing photos, I’m reminded of the dark and dreary house my client was moving her family into back then. The place had great potential and I could see how a well-planned kitchen and clever colour and lighting, throughout, could make this house feel open, bright, contemporary and harmonious. Selecting the best white for trim and ceilings banished the dreary cold look of the rooms and made the flooring finishes come alive. Using colours of similar value, and painting things like radiators, hand rails, and vent covers, created a calm, clean and custom effect. The kitchen design is as efficient as it is lovely and makes the best use of the space. Every light in the kitchen was selected and placed to perform. The overall effect is functional, upscale and beautiful.
In the email, my client tells me she appreciates, every day, the little details that pull the whole place together. And she wants me back for her next home. Thank you JG! It’s so good to know my efforts are appreciated not only in the early after-glow of a design completion, but in the everyday living that happens in a home.
